Your Website Shouldn't Be Costing You Customers

A redesign is not a repaint. Done well it fixes the reasons the current site underperforms. Done carelessly it destroys the search visibility you spent years accumulating.

What Usually Drives a Redesign

If two or more of these sound familiar, a redesign is probably overdue.

It looks dated and buyers notice

Design conventions move. A site that looked current five years ago now quietly signals that the business behind it may also be behind.

Mobile is an afterthought

Cramped text, buttons too small to hit and layouts that break — on the devices that now bring most of your traffic.

It is slow and search knows it

Accumulated plugins, oversized images and unoptimised code push load times past the point where visitors and search engines both lose patience.

The structure fights the visitor

Content organised around your internal departments rather than what customers came to find, with important pages buried three levels deep.

Redesign on Evidence,
Not on Taste

We start with what the current site already tells us: which pages bring traffic, which convert, which keywords you rank for, and where people abandon. That data decides what to keep, what to fix and what to cut.

The most valuable part of a redesign is often invisible — a complete URL inventory and redirect map, so the rankings you already have survive the move. Redesigns that skip this routinely lose most of their organic traffic overnight.

What You Should
Expect From a Redesign

More enquiries from the same traffic

Clearer structure and stronger conversion paths lift results immediately.

Rankings kept, then improved

Proper redirects protect what you have; better architecture builds on it.

A site that loads properly

Performance rebuilt rather than patched.

Credibility restored

A current, fast site changes how buyers judge your pricing.

Content you can maintain

A CMS your team can use without calling a developer.

Proof it worked

Baseline plus post-launch data means you can see the difference.

Audit → Strategy → Redesign →
Development → Optimization

Audit

Design, UX, speed, SEO, accessibility and analytics reviewed, with findings written up plainly.

Strategy

What the new site must achieve, which pages to keep, and the new architecture.

Redesign

Wireframes then visual design, homepage first as the benchmark.

Development

Responsive build with performance and SEO requirements built in.

Migration & launch

Redirect map implemented and tested, staged launch with rollback ready.

Optimization

30 days of monitoring, then iterate on what the data shows.

The redirect map is the part nobody sees.

It is also the single difference between a redesign that keeps its traffic and one that loses it. We do not launch without one.

FAQs - Questions Before You Start

It can, badly, if URLs change without redirects or if content that was ranking gets deleted. Handled properly — full URL inventory, one-to-one redirect map, content audit, preserved on-page elements — rankings hold and usually improve.

If the structure is sound and only the design is dated, a refresh is cheaper and faster. If the architecture, platform or performance are the problem, a rebuild costs less than patching indefinitely. The audit answers this before you commit.

A refresh runs three to four weeks. A full redesign with new architecture runs six to ten. Replatforming depends on how much content and data has to move.

Yes, and we usually should — content that ranks is an asset. The audit identifies what to keep as is, what to improve, what to merge and what to remove.

That is why we record a baseline and monitor for 30 days. If a page loses traffic we can see it quickly and diagnose whether it is a redirect, a content or an indexation problem.

Most of our redesign work is exactly that. The audit stage exists to get us up to speed on whatever we are inheriting.
